Let's Go Jellyfishing!

Jellyfish&Chicken Salad

My contribution to my family's Father's Day dinner last night. I can cook Chinese food too, ok. Haha. I've reached the age where I'm allowed to do these things now and be taken seriously! Feels nice. They're starting to acknowledge that I'm becoming an adult. But seriously I don't know how often I'm gonna have to make that dish. It took me 13248308 hours to hand shred two big ass chickens. Cooking the jellyfish was easy, I wasn't too sure how to season it so I just kinda of guestimated the ingredients and luckily it came out tasty hahaha. I should stop guestimating when I cook.

I feel terrible that I haven't been keeping this blog afloat. It's not like I've stopped eating or cooking. I'm just lazy. Sorry. Here's a picture of yesterday's breakfast:
Sausage, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Kimchi

I can't really explain the kimchi other than that I wanted some haha. And it was just too much meat (twss, i know i know), needed some veggies to balance it all out before I have a heart attack and die. But taste wise, it actually went well with everything else. I may start eating kimchi with my bacon sausage and eggs now.

I also tried that cupcake place downtown, Cako, the other day. It's okay. Kinda dry. Tastes like something I've made in the past. And I always hate when that happens. I don't like spending money on something I could do myself. That goes the same for certain foods as well.

Sweet Nothings.

I used to bake. I used to bake a lot. It was calming when I needed it. I closed the kitchen door, turn on some music, and I just get in this zone. Cakes, cookies, whatever. I just wanted to bake. But the past few years, I haven't been baking as much. Every now and then, here and there, some cupcakes. But the feeling wasn't the same. I guess there just seems to be too many interruptions that present themselves when I bake now. Like my mom is in the kitchen with me and she always has to have a say in how I do things, as moms do.
Maybe it's because I haven't been as stressed as I used to be. I'm not like super depressed all the time and constantly in need of temporary solace. But I want to change this. I don't like associating baking with means of solace! I'm gonna start baking again. But I'm one of those bakers that bake for the sake of baking, I don't usually eat it. Haha. Taking request :)

THE HUNT IS OVER!

M&M's minis!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!1111! I searched Safeways, Luckys, Targets far and wide yet they were no where to be found. Yes, I had to break my vow of never giving business to Walmart but dammit..I want my M&M's. I'm starting to believe the Mars brand only puts them out for holidays. which is why I'm stocking up now! HAhahaahahaha.

Sweet Thangs

*mini red velvet

Did you know there is a little bakery called Sweet Things that resides in Cal Mart, a grocery store located next to the 24 hour Starbucks on Spruce & California? Surprised me too. Angel and I were on a hunt to mack on some cupcakes and according to Yelp, Sweet Things deserves to be macked on. Took us a while before we noticed it was INSIDE a grocery store, and did not have their own store front. I got myself a few mini red velvets which were ONLY $1.10 each! Cheaps! The regular sizes were about $2.50 which is also pretty cheap. They also had an assortment of various other desserts but I stopped by solely for the cupcakes. I would go back to try out the other flavors they offered. And the cheesecake. Cause I love me some cheesecake.

If only they opened late, that'd be awesome. We frequent that Starbucks for late night coffee fixes. Okay, we go there cause it's the only place with a bathroom opened at 2am. But I do get something, sometimes. LOL. Cupcakes and coffee mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Cravings are most satisfying at night.
